The Passing of President Hinkley

We are so grateful for President Hinkley's service as the prophet for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We will really miss hearing him at general conference and other speaking events. Although our hearts are sad we are also over joyed with his returning to live with his Heavenly Father and his sweetheart in heaven. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Porter Cousins all lined up in a row.
William, Kyle, Bradley, Blake, and Amy

They said it couldn't be done, but after 7 1/2 years, Joe is a Husker fan!

William cared less about his presents and more about the candy that was in the stockings and later dumped on the floor.

The only thing Bradley wanted was a Squawker the parrot.

Sad when this is the best you can do.

2007 Nativity

We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas Eve we went to Janette's parents' house here in Omaha and had dinner as well as enjoyed a wonderful live nativity presentation put on by Bradley, Kyle, William, Uncle Bill, Aunt Lisa, and cousins Michael and Sammy. Joe's parents were able to come out from Clarkston, Washington to spend the holidays with us. Joe brother Tim and wife Amanda with their son came up from Lincoln, NE Christmas to have dinner and spend the night. Joe's sister Teri and her husband and daughter were able to join us for dinner as well on Christmas. It was great to have the Porter's join us for Christmas and the holidays. New Years Eve everyone was at our house and we had a fondue party as well as played games and visited until midnight. We said Happy New Year, and Happy Birthday to Joe's Mom, born on New Years Day, and headed off to bed. We were able to get a picture of the cousins together before Tim and Amanda had to head back to Lincoln. We have really enjoyed having them here!

Happy Birthday Kyle

Kyle had his 4th birthday party on December 15th. He had just a few friends over and they had a lot of fun. He chose Mickey Mouse for his theme and so I did my best with the cake to make it look like Mickey Mouse. He was so excited! Kyle then waited until the 26th of December to officially turn 4. On the 26th we went to Burger King with all of Kyle's Aunts and Uncles on Joe's side as well as Grandpa and Grandma Porter. Bill, Lisa, and their twins were there along with uncle Dave and Grandpa and Grandma Fredericks from Janette's side of the family. We let the kids eat lunch and play on Burger King. Afterwards Kyle opened presents and had cupcakes with everyone at Burger King.
