Kyle goes to the Hospital

We are so happy today that Kyle's placement of the pins went so well. The surgeon was able to put the pins in place without cutting open Kyle's arm. His doctor said his elbow as really swollen when they went in, and they debated on cutting open his arm but in the end they were able to get them in without having to do that. Kyle picked a camo for his cast color. After he woke up he was able to have ice cream and was excited to eat his strawberry ice cream and drink sprite. He, as expected, is sore and sleepy. He is excited for people to be able to sign his cast. His cast will be on for four weeks and then the cast and pins will be removed. Thank you so much for your kind words, concern, and prayers, we really appreciate them.

We are glad all went well. He looks so tiny asleep in the hospital bed. Good taste in ice cream!

Wow, I didn't know he had to get surgery until right now-I feel so bad for him. Such a big ordeal for such a little guy. The worst is over, right? I hope it heals well and I'm glad he can at least look forward to the autographs. Good luck with the baths!

I am glad though that he is doing well!
Love the cast!
Wish there were better ones when I was having my spell of breaks....

I remember when Jay was 21 months old and broke his thigh. He was in a cast from his waist to his toes. With a family there is always something going on. Glad Kyle is doing so well.

Hey guys,
wow, what a trooper! So glad they didn't have to cut him arm open too! Are you amazed with 4 boys that you haven't been in ER more? We send him all our love.

PS, only 4 weeks of a cast? Wow, if that were my arm I'd have to have it on for 4 months probably. The blessing of youth and quick healing....

It must be the cool camo print that is making Kyle smile like it was all fun and games. I am glad that he is doing better and handling everything well. How are you as the parents handling things? Thankfully it wasn't anything too serious, right!?

Ooh, too many memories of broken arm hospital visits with Philip! Man, they have so many cool choices for casts now--love the camo! He will even have some cool pin scars to show off (tiny dots) :)
