Carving Pumpkins

The Boys with their Pumpkins

Kyle Playing with his Pumpkin

Kyle Digging In

Bradley Cleaning his and Williams Pumpkin

The boys had a great time cleaning and making Jack-O-Lanterns. William didn't like digging out the guts, so Bradley helped him out. Bradley wanted him pumpkin to look like an alien, Kyle's is a silly face, which fits him, and Williams is a kid with a tooth.

Boys Will Be Boys

Yesterday I walked outside the garage to see Bradley going as fast as he can on his bike down the sidewalk with a big grin on his face and Kyle three houses up hiding around the corner by their garage. As Bradley pulls into our driveway he says, "dad guess what we are doing?" Of course I have no idea. He proceeds telling me that he can Kyle are ringing people's doorbells and running away. I had to keep myself from laughing, because it was funny thinking of two young boys doing that. Plus, I had no idea where they thought of it (I'm guessing Tim :). I did ask him where he learned it and he told me it was an April Fools joke. I told him it isn't April Fools day and not to do it again. Thankfully, a lot of the neighbors weren't home and the ones that were are probably hoping we move soon.

Kyle goes to the Hospital

We are so happy today that Kyle's placement of the pins went so well. The surgeon was able to put the pins in place without cutting open Kyle's arm. His doctor said his elbow as really swollen when they went in, and they debated on cutting open his arm but in the end they were able to get them in without having to do that. Kyle picked a camo for his cast color. After he woke up he was able to have ice cream and was excited to eat his strawberry ice cream and drink sprite. He, as expected, is sore and sleepy. He is excited for people to be able to sign his cast. His cast will be on for four weeks and then the cast and pins will be removed. Thank you so much for your kind words, concern, and prayers, we really appreciate them.

Update on Kyle

Well we went to go see the doctor today so Kyle could get his cast. They took a couple more x-rays of his arm. After looking at the x-rays the doctor said that he will need to have a couple pins put in his elbow so that it heals right. Poor little guy! Now we will be taking him in for surgery on Wednesday. He is enjoying watching cartoons and movies.

No More Monkey's Jumping on the Bed

Kyle with his soft cast

Side view of Kyle's broken arm.

Kyle singing "5 Little Monkey's"

It all started at the zoo. Kyle was climbing on the railing and we kept telling him not to climb on the railing. He fell over and bonked his head on the ground. He didn't feel very well, so we went home. He started feeling better and our friends invited us over, so we went over to their house. The kids were upstairs and Kyle slipped off of the edge of the bed and landed on his arm. Janette took him to the doctor and he broke it right above the elbow. He is in a soft cast right now and he will get a "yellow" cast tomorrow.

Growing up too Fast

Every once in a while it hits me that my boys are growing up too fast and I can't keep up with them. William has recently decided that he wants to go to school like his big brothers. Here he has on Kyle's backpack, full of Friday folder stuff still. He is so proud of wearing the backpack. Although I think he is so cute, it is hard enough to say goodbye to Bradley and Kyle as they go to first grade and preschool. I am not ready to let this little pumpkin go to school yet.

I was 9 years old and going to Kohl Elementary in Broomfield, Colorado. I was just entering 3rd grade, and loving my new teacher. I had just gotten my first pair of glasses. I think I am a little older in the picture, but you get to see a good idea of what they style of glasses were around that time.

I had graduated from High School earlier that year and was at Ricks college, and unknown to me I was about to meet my future husband in the Ricks College Cafeteria. It took a couple more months of seeing each other around campus, and then we started dating. We got married in 2000 I went from bangs to no bangs.

I was expecting our second son, Kyle. We had just moved into our new house, and were getting everything settled. I was staying at home with my babies, and Joe was working at his first job after college. Bradley had been born two years earlier and was excited to be a big brother. We had Kyle, Joe went into the hospital the day after we got home for his lovely tooth infection.

We had three boys and were about to find out we were expecting a fourth, which turned out to be a boys as well, Matthew. William turned one, Bradley started Kindergarten, and Kyle was about to turn 4.

This Year So Far
We added Matthew, our fourth baby boy, to our family, William turned 2, Kyle started preschool and Bradley started 1st grade.

Today
I have gotten Bradley to school, but still have to get Kyle to preschool. We are going to a High School football game tonight. I hope to get the house clean, laundry done, play with my kids, and at the end of the day that they will all go to bed, and stay in bed.

Tomorrow
We have a soccer game, spend some time playing, of course there's always more laundry and cleaning, and we have some plans in the early stages of going to the zoo. I hope that my boys play all day together, and they don't pick on each other.

Next Year
Kyle will be in Kindergarten, Bradley will be in second grade, William and Matt will be at home with me. We hope we will be in a new home. Bradley will get baptized. Joe will have gotten his MBA in finance, and we will be as happy as we are today. We can't tell you anything else, because it is a secret, that even we don't know yet.

Camping

We went camping this last weekend. It ended up being a beautiful weekend to go camping. The boys had so much fun with all the festivities of camping, including cooking hotdogs in the fire, making s'mores, a little fishing, a little frog catching, sleeping in the tent, and having hot chocolate in the morning. They loved helping with the fire, throwing all the sticks and leaves they could find to get it going. Matthew put up with the whole thing, and was a real champ about sleeping that night. William was so excited for the camping trip and sleeping in a tent with sleeping bags he had a hard time winding down. Bradley wanted to join the boyscouts that were there, and Kyle scared the teenage girls with a frog that he had caught. Joe get claims for putting the tent up, while I get the rights of the camp fire. Joe was good to eat a lot of marshmallows, I on the other hand tried part of one and quickly remembered why I don't like marshmallows.

Porter Time

Joe sister Teri came out with her husband Aaron and two little girls. Tim and Amanda came up with their little boy. It was a great time for the siblings and cousins to spends time together we were really happy to spend some time together. Teri's little girl wasn't too sure about all the boys and how crazy they were, but by the end she wasn't shocked by the behavior anymore.

Matthew is 2 months old

It has already been two months since Matt has joined us. Wow how time flies. So how has Matt changed? Matt weighs a whopping 12 pounds 8 ounces at two months and is 23 1/2 inches long. Making him in between the 75th and 80th percentile. He doesn't like his swing, but he loves his bouncer, which is why a lot of his pictures are taken in the bouncer. He has learned to smile and to roll over from his tummy to his back. His neck and back have always been incredibly strong, and when he is mad he arches his back and you can't get him to cuddle in with you at all. He doesn't like sleeping in his crib, so he has to be really asleep to sleep in there for long periods of time. His brothers really love him a lot, and Matt has learned to tolerate Williams constant kisses and snuggles. He has slept through the night a couple of times, and we are hoping that those become more frequent. The first month and a half all he wanted to do was be held all the time, even when he was sleeping. Luckily he has started growing out of that and will sit in his bouncer playing for longer periods of time. He like to have cooing conversations with you and is undoubtedly telling people our family secrets. A few squeals of delight have become to come out as he is smiling and cooing with you. We are sure glad to have Matt with us!
